Before applying to serve as a staff member with WOW, please read the expectations and job descriptions before proceeding to the application below.

Interns

A WOW Urban Ministry summer intern is a person passionate about serving in the name of Christ, as well has shown strong work ethic and gifts in leadership. This is a full time position focusing on developing the spiritual gifts of the individual, as well as leading and organizing summer activities.

Duties and Responsibilities:
· Leading discussions, worship, Bible Study, and other tasks
· Leading of on site mission work
· Staying with guests at least 3 weeks of the summer
· Developing and facilitating relationships with guests and staff
· Making purchases and running other errands
· Along with general tasks, interns will be placed into specialized positions around people’s passions and gifts.
· Maintaining relationships with mission partners
· Administrative tasks
· Program development

Education and Other Requirements
A summer intern must be a high school graduate, and typically have served on crew for at least one year.



Crew Members

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBLITIES
· On site leadership
· Supplemental support in leading Bible study and other activities
· Developing relationships with guests


SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

· Desire to grow spiritually
· Willingness to get hands dirty

EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Crew member positions are usually held by recently graduated seniors from high school. They have also usually been either a guest or a WOW leadership team member, prior to serving as a Crew member.  Attending the Leadership Academy is mandatory.


Leadership Team Members

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Mission site leadership
· Developing relationships with guests
· Assisting with dish clean up, and Friday clean up
· Participating in, but not leading Bible Study
· Setting a good example
· Properly participating in and leading Ice Breakers
· Adhering to Leadership Covenant guidelines
· Attending mandatory meetings and events
· Set-up and preparation for WOW weeks

· Strong work ethic
· Desire to explore your own faith
· Ability to adapt in stressful situations

EDUCATION AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Leadership Team members are youth who have completed at least 6th grade. Lodging and transportation need to be considered before application.  WOW does not offer staff lodging for its leadership team.  Attending the Leadership Academy is mandatory.



All Interns and Crew Members will gather in January for our first staff meeting.  At this meeting they will develop and sign a staff covenant unique to this summer staff.  Interns, Crew, and Leadership Team members will be held accountable to the covenant. Violation of the staff covenant can result in swift action by management, up to and including termination of employment.
